23 things: a new lease of life and playing catchup
Having created this blog for the OULS mini-conference on Web 2.0 in 2008 (remember that?), I've resurrected it for 23 things. As IT person for my library I'm supposed to be good with this sort of thing but I've started later than everybody else - let's see if I can catch up... I only really know bits and pieces about web 2.0 - blogs, wiki's and pageflakes I can handle but that's about as far as it goes...

Advanced Blogging?
From this morning's presentations I was left with the impression that the Library Weblog (LibLog?) would be by far the most immediately useful thing to implement in OULS - news page announcements distributed quickly, with old messages stored for retrieval at later dates, would be great - particularly as the SSL staff mailing list is so heavily used. Daily announcements to staff could also be posted in one place with an internal weblog avoiding over-dependence on mailing lists.

Ignorance>Knowledge
I've been a little left behind by the Web 2.0 Craze. I have a Facebook Page but I'm far from a heavy user and I want to use this day to develop a decent working grasp of a range of tools which are becoming more and more common in contemporary libraries. I've been playing catch-up for too long and I want to see what this technology genuinely has to offer....
